Welcome to my Music and Art

Hi I am Ron Fairfield and I am here to humbly present my Music and Art to you. In a world of so much Music and Art does the world need more? probably not but when you are driven! you have to create, my fellow artists and Musicians know this so well.

I learned acoustic guitar at 10 years old and have written songs for as long as I can remember, I added Mandolin and other stringed intruments when I was introduced to the amazing Incredible String Band in the late 60's. Mike Heron and George Harrison exposed me to Classical Indian Music and for my 21st birthday I became the proud owner of my very own Sitar.

How do you describe your own music? Very difficult because my influences are very varied and eclectic. Starting with The Beatles, the explosion of psychedelia, the Incredible String Band, Captain Beefheart, Cream, Soft Machine. Next the inovative Folk Rock scene with Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span and the incredible individuals who came from those bands, particularly Richard Thompson. Then I was introduced to the great John Martyn and the album "Solid Air"....... a new way to play acoustic guitar.

I play acoustic guitar in a mix of percussive and melodic styles with my own finger style. The songs are influenced by seemingly obscure subjects, a book, article on the news, a painting, or a moment in time.

A am unsigned and open to interest, but if I have to I will self publish.
